Some questions

  • 19 Jun '14

Hi, I thinking on using spirit on one of my projects but I have some questions that I hope some of you can answer me:

  • Was spirit built for scalability?

  • can a forum thread be embebed on another template (ie. I would like to create a topic for every user and show it on their profile page as a guest book/comments or something like that)?

  • how hard would it be to replace the comment editor for a WYSIWYG one?

@lpalomo

Hi, I thinking on using spirit on one of my projects but I have some questions that I hope some of you can answer me:

  • Was spirit built for scalability?

Yes . From the ground up, it was built for scalability.
I recommend to setup nginx + uwsgi as web server, postgreSQL as database, Redis as cache.

  • can a forum thread be embebed on another template (ie. I would like to create a topic for every user and show it on their profile page as a guest book/comments or something like that)?

I don't see why not. It requires customization, so knowing python and how to code is a must.

  • how hard would it be to replace the comment editor for a WYSIWYG one?

Replacing the current editor by hallo should be relatively straightforward.

Thank you very much for your reply. I guess that in the folloeing weeks I'll start the experiment. I'll tell you how it went!

pd: spirit is awesome, it can even be used as a replacement for django-postman!
