Any comments on Spirit vs Misago?

Misago can be seen here:

A million thumbs up for both.

Cool!, It's something really easy to do actually. The thing is, Django is not well suited for real time anything. In order to get something like this you have to do short-polling, it's similar to refreshing the page in a regular interval (it wont refresh the page, but do some js requests), not really real-time but close enough.

Thats basically whats done in 0.6. Every few sec's theres ajax to to server that replies with JSon that has current state for template bits to be updated. Not facebook-chatsque reallife, but frequent enough to keep ui updated in longer sittings and light enough to fit to 5$ vps's and shareds that I really really really want to support. :)

Okay, I have ended reading your topic (Misago development log) at Admin Zone PL.
http://www.adminzone.pl/Misago-Temat-glowny/tid/40

You're too much worried about hosting. As I see because of PL forum users. Most of medium and large boards do not have any problem with getting a VPS/dedicated server in a price range of 50-100 USD/EUR per month.

People are ready to experiment with exotic software like Zotonic, the Erlang Web Framework, Hippo CMS (Java), Discourse/LocomotiveCMS (Ruby on Rails) or Mura CMS (Adobe ColdFusion). Just give them a reason (unique features and look) and "wow factor" known from esoTalk forum engine.

Could you please write something more about migrating phpBB and IPB boards to Misago?

No muss, no fuss, no bother. Only time will tell what the future holds.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.
